Metrology — VIM and OIML V 2-200
The International Vocabulary of Metrology and OIML’s legal-metrology companion. Six-criterion multidimensional decompositions of measurement standard; cross-edition supersedes chains across four VIM editions; ExternalConcept for parenthetical terms resolved from VIM to OIML.
Geospatial — ISO 19135 and cross-vocabulary equivalences
ISO/TC 211, OGC, FAO, INSPIRE. SKOS mapping properties (exact_match, close_match, broad_match, narrow_match) for cross-vocabulary equivalence; ISO 19135 register lifecycle on every concept; UN-language coverage as a structural invariant.
Chemistry — IUPAC nomenclature
IUPAC Gold Book, Colour Index, nomenclature recommendations. Multiple designation types per concept (systematic + common + trade names + structural formulas); ISO 704:2022 §7 appellations for unique entities; designation lifecycle dating.
Every use case above publishes in at least two languages. Glossarist’s localizations map makes this structural — one concept, multiple language entries, all sharing the same ManagedConcept identity. Translations don’t drift.

Each use case fits into the ISO 704:2022 §5.6.3 typology — see Concept System Types. Metrology’s OIML 5.1 is generic + multidimensional + monohierarchical. Geospatial’s feature is generic + monodimensional + monohierarchical. Chemistry’s compound names are mostly associative (synonymy + equivalence).
Every use case with multidimensional concept systems uses Glossarist’s per-file hyperedge storage at relations/<comprehensive-id>/<criterion-slug>.yaml — see Hyperedges. This pattern scales to dozens of criterion groups per comprehensive without file-size bloat or translator conflict.
